SmartThings allows you to control your refrigerator from anywhere. Notifications are sent to your phone when it is opened or closed. You can create schedules to set the temperature, and even create reminders. SmartThings was an early participant in the Home Connectivity Alliance. This alliance is working towards making major home appliances from different manufacturers interoperable. In the near future, you could control your Samsung washer/dryer, Electrolux oven, and LG TV using the same application. While it's not as well supported as Alexa and Google Assistant, SmartThings does have some big names on its roster that include Arlo, Nest, Belkin and Lifx.
